CHUMPWRECKER (LIVE):
Chumpwrecker is the breakcore and drum & bass project of North East U.K–based electronic musician Ian Hanratty.
Known for his uncompromising hardware-only
performances. Chumpwrecker delivers a full-throttle
assault of beats, distortion, and twisted synths—without a laptop or DAW in sight.
Every set is built live on synths and samplers, bringing raw energy and unpredictability to the stage.
The project was conceived during the 2020 pandemic, when Hanratty’s guitar-based band was side lined by lockdowns. Rather than wait it out, he immersed himself in hardware production, fusing breakcore, drum & bass, and punk-inspired aggression into a sound designed for the live arena.
When the world reopened, Chumpwrecker hit the stage hard, quickly establishing himself across the U.K. underground.
